Cisco and Bristol-Meyers Squibb recognized for exceptional innovation programs

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Brightidea, the industry leader in innovation management solutions, announced the winners of its annual innovation awards at the company’s first-ever user conference, Synthesize. Several companies were recognized for outstanding accomplishments in their innovation programs. Among them were Cisco and Bristol-Meyers Squibb.

Following CEO Matt Greeley’s opening keynote, Director of Sales, Brian Brown, announced and personally handed the awards to representatives of the companies who were present.

Bristol-Meyers Squibb won the award for longest-running innovation program—13 years. This has been an outstanding accomplishment, given that innovation has only recently been a part of corporate growth strategy. Thanks in part to its program leader, Tom Hill, Bristol-Meyers Squibb has been ahead of the curve in setting up and sustaining its innovation program. Worthy of note is that during the program’s 13-year period, the company’s stock value has more than tripled.

Cisco took home the award for highest-tracked financial impact in 2016. Since first becoming a Brightidea customer in 2008, the company’s innovation program has come a long way in its development. This year alone, the company tracked a total of $45.3 million dollars in business impact. Proudly accepting the award were four members of Cisco’s innovation team: Nicholas Selk, Marisa Ings, Andrew St. Clair, and Stephanie Hegarty.

In his closing remarks to the awards presentation, Brian Brown announced that Brightidea will be adding a new category to its innovation awards program for 2017: highest qualitative impact. The 2017 awards will be announced at the company’s next user conference.
